Hari Om.
Let us begin the forty fifth sarga of the kishkindhA kAnDam by offering our prostrations at the lotus feet of SrIrAma and our sathguru.
Having identified the four teams and detailing them the landmarks that they will encounter in a certain direction, sugrIva summoned hanumAn back again and praised him as the most likely hero who will accomplish the task of identifying where sItA was. His praise was based on the extreme focus, ability and intellect that hanumAn has brought to the expeditions in the past. Being fully aware of the track record of hanumAn, sugrIva was pretty sure that he would accomplish. rAma was impressed at this confidence that the master had in his man and took out the signet ring that bore his name and gave it to hanumAn and said sItA shall speak to him without hesitation when she receives this ring from him. Onwards…

The vAnara warriors who were spoken to individually in connection with the direction in which they were leading the search parties were summoned altogether and ordered sternly by sugrIva to search for sItA as per his directions and accomplish the objective of rAma.
तदुग्रशासनं भर्तुर्विज्ञाय हरिपुङ्गवाः।।4.45.2।।
शलभा इव सञ्छाद्य मेदिनीं सम्प्रतस्थिरे।
Grasping the sternness of the order of the master, the vAnara warriors at once spread out all over the earth in the respective directions like locusts. During this month that was given for the search to be conducted and completed, rAma stayed back on the praSravana mountain along with lakshmaNa.
The search along the delightful northern direction covered with king of mountain ranges was led by warrior SatabalI. While vinata went in the eastern direction, several warriors tAra and hanumAn led by angada left for the southern direction which was amply blessed amply by the movements of sage agstya. The inaccessible western direction ruled over by lord varuNa was given to sushENa for the search. Thus delegating the search along the four cardinal directions, sugrIva was both relieved and happy.
Thus charged into duty by the king, the mighty vAnara warriors hastened in the direction assigned to them and as they did so, they ran, they leapt, they roared, they screamed. They all proclaimed that we shall slay rAvaNa and bring sItA back. Each of them boasted thus –
अहमेको हनिष्यामि रावणं प्राप्तमाहवे।
ततश्चोन्मथ्य सहसा हरिष्ये जनकात्मजाम्।।4.45.12।।
“I alone shall get rAVaNa in the war, torment him and bring the daughter of janaka back”.
Another said, “You all stay here, even if she is troubled and is in the nether worlds, I shall rescue her.”
“I shall break the trees, shatter the mountains and the earth and churn the oceans” said another.
Yet another boasted – “Without doubt, I shall leap over a hundred yOjanas and my movement would be unobstructed on the earth, in the oceans, among the mountains and through the forests, so much so that even the nether worlds cannot slow down my pace”
भूतले सागरे वाऽपि शैलेषु च वनेषु च।
पातालस्यापि वा मध्ये न ममाच्छिद्यते गतिः।।4.45.16।।
Thus the vAnara warriors, being very proud of their might, proclaimed in front of the king sugrIva.
